Before Open Day

 

Do I need to register for Open Day?

Yes, we recommend registering to attend Open Day. You can plan your day and receive the latest event updates. We recommend that you register before 16 March.

Does registration give me access to the scheduled information sessions?

Yes, registering for Open Day will give you access to scheduled information sessions. You do not need to register separately. However seats are limited and are allocated on a first come basis.

I have accessibility requirements. Will I be able to get support if required?

Yes, our team will be available to assist you where needed. If you have specific requirements or further questions, please contact us at future.student@anu.edu.au

I am interested in postgraduate study. Will there be information available?

Yes, we will host information sessions dedicated to postgraduate study in the Kambri precinct. There will also be informational booths with representatives from academic areas available to answer your questions.

Travelling from interstate

 

I am not driving. Can I travel to Canberra another way?

Yes, you can travel to Canberra by bus, train or by air.

Where do I stay?

There are many accommodation options near ANU campus to suit any budget.

Canberra Accommodation Centre will offer a 10% discount to anyone attending ANU Open Day. Phone 1800 317 537 to book and receive your discount.

Doma Hotels are offering a 20% discount at their Canberra hotels – Hotel Realm, Burbury Hotel, Little National Hotel, Brassey Hotel and Pinnacle Apartments. Use booking promo code ‘ANUEVENT’ to receive the discount.

I am visiting Canberra for the weekend. What else can I do?

What to bring with you?

To get the most out of your ANU Open Day experience:

  • Check out the weather forecast and pack appropriately – sunscreen, hat, or maybe an umbrella
  • Drink bottle
  • Something to take notes with
  • A plan of what you want to do and see on the day
  • A list of questions
  • Plenty of enthusiasm!

Can I get to Open Day by public transport?

Yes, there are bus stops adjacent to ANU campus along Barry Drive and Marcus Clarke St. ANU campus is also a short walk from the city and citywest bus interchanges and the lightrail.

Will there be parking available on ANU during Open Day?

Yes, there are many parking options available at ANU. All outdoor parking areas and Baldessin parking station will be free of charge. Underground parking in the Kambri precinct is free for the first 3 hours.

How do I know where to go once I’m at Open Day?

We recommend planning your day in advance using the ‘add to calendar’ function on the Open Day website.

You can collect a program and map when you arrive at Open Day. Signage will help direct you on the day, and our team will be available to assist you where needed.

You can also access geolocation pins to each activity through the Open Day website.

Will I be able to access the information sessions if the venue is at capacity?

Yes, if you are attending Open Day in-person you will be able to view all live streaming sessions via a screen set up on the Kambri lawns. Live stream sessions can also be viewed on the Open Day website.

Information sessions held in Manning Clark Hall, Cinema and T2 venues will be recorded and added to the website after Open Day.

Can I speak to someone about my study options?

Yes, there will be informational booths with representatives from academic areas available to answer your questions.

Will I be able to see the facilities and accommodation?

Yes, there will be tours available throughout the day of the campus and academic precincts.

You will be able to tour accommodation buildings. A bus service will be provided to help you navigate between buildings.

Who do I talk to if I need help on the day?

There will be an information booth in the Kambri precinct, and ANU staff across campus will be available to assist you where needed.

Can I get free Wifi Access on Open Day?

Yes, free Wi-Fi will be available to all attendees. Login details will be provided in the program and on signage in Kambri.

Where can I get something to eat?

There are many food vendors in the Kambri precinct that will be open on the day.
